Nunc Dimittis (St Luke 2.29) |
| |
| Nunc dimittis servum tuum, Domine, secundum verbum tuum in pace. | Lord, now lettest thou thy servant depart in peace: according to thy word. |
| Quia viderunt oculi mei salutem tuam, | For mine eyes have seen: thy salvation, |
| Quam parasti ante faciem omnium populorum, | Which thou hast prepared: before the face of all people; |
| Lumen ad revelationem gentium et gloriam plebis tuæ Israel. | To be a light to lighten the Gentiles: and to be the glory of thy people Israel. |
| Gloria Patri et Filio et Spiritui Sancto. | Glory be to the Father, and to the Son: and to the Holy Ghost; |
| Sicut erat in principio et nunc et semper et in sæcula sæculorum. Amen. | As it was in the beginning, is now, and ever shall be: world without end. Amen. |
